Founder's Message

Celebrating 25 Years! On August 15, 2000, The Harry G. Harris Foundation was established with a mission to advance quality of life and expand opportunity across the United States and around the world. I extend deepest thanks to my dear mother, Athanasia G. Harris, whose wise counsel and unwavering encouragement inspired this meaningful endeavor.

Today, we mark 25 years of service supporting individuals and organizations committed to progress, compassion and innovation. The Foundation champions creative, impact-driven initiatives in education, public health, culture and the arts, economic development and public policy. We also seek collaboration with nationally and internationally recognized philanthropic allies who share our commitment to service excellence and accountability.

Through this work, The Harry G. Harris Foundation affirms its enduring dedication to empowerment, innovation and meaningful change.

Since its inception, I have personally contributed all financial resources to the Foundation, a portion of which was thoughtfully invested to expand our capacity for giving. Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has meaningfully assisted hundreds of individuals and families. This enduring commitment remains a profound source of pride and purpose.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to my fellow directors; Ioannis T. Charalampopoulos, Haoxing Lin and Gary L. Weltmann, whose wisdom and dedication have enriched the Foundation’s journey. On this occasion, I especially wish to recognize Mr. Weltmann, who has served since our founding. His financial expertise and thoughtful counsel have been instrumental to our sustained growth and vision.

Looking ahead, I am pleased to share that I have established a trust and committed additional financial resources to significantly expand the Foundation’s involvement and global engagement in the years to come.

The Harry G. Harris Foundation is a nonprofit corporation committed to advancing the quality of life and opportunities for individuals and communities across the United States and globally. We support and fund innovative, impact-driven programs and initiatives in the areas of education, public health, culture and the arts, economic development and public policy. The Foundation places special emphasis on demonstration and developmental efforts that offer new, promising approaches for social advancement and meaningful systemic change. We prioritize collaboration with nonprofit and charitable organizations that exemplify creativity, inclusivity and measurable outcomes. The Foundation also seeks to engage with nationally and internationally recognized philanthropic partners aligned with our mission and committed to best practices in service and accountability. All grantees are carefully evaluated to ensure that financial resources are used effectively and in accordance with the intended charitable purpose. Through this work, The Harry G. OUR FOUNDER

HARRY G. HARRIS, Ph.D.

A graduate of Harvard University and the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Harris advocates passionately for global management, healthcare research and strategic policy development. With decades of service in government, including The White House, and private enterprises, his extensive work transcends national boundaries, with research projects and lectures conducted in over 160 countries and territories.

Dr. Harris embodies the spirit of inquiry and innovation in all his endeavors. He continually explores new frontiers in global competitiveness, entrepreneurship and dynamic innovation, leaving a lasting legacy in many areas.

HARRIS HOUSE

Harris House serves as the welcoming headquarters of The Harry G. Harris Foundation, housing our offices, exhibit spaces and dedicated rooms for meetings and lectures. This beautiful facility reflects our commitment to creating an inspiring environment where innovative ideas flourish and meaningful collaborations take shape. More than just our operational base, Harris House embodies the Foundation's mission of fostering positive change. It provides space where partners, grantees and global leaders gather to advance education, health and social innovation initiatives that benefit communities worldwide.
